DoubleCloud’s final update | We are winding down operations. Learn more →

Thank you for the journey: DoubleCloud’s final update

Today is a sad day for us: DoubleCloud is winding down operations. We started DoubleCloud with a firm belief in the power of open source technologies and community. We strived to build the most user-friendly, cost-efficient data infrastructure platform, but the level of service we wanted to provide, our growth ambitions, and the funding we could secure ultimately didn’t align.

We are proud to have helped our clients make their data infrastructure hassle-free and more efficient. We are even more proud to say that we met many brilliant people during our journey and made many good friends. We are grateful for the support and trust you have extended to us throughout, and we hope you enjoyed working with us as much as we did with you.

Now, DoubleCloud will not shut down overnight. We will make sure that all our clients have ample time to transition and will provide our full support. Our products are built on widely adopted open source technologies, which we believe will ensure a smoother transition.

Here’s what will happen next:

  • DoubleCloud will stop creating new accounts on October 1st, 2024.

  • Our clients will have an opportunity to transition from DoubleCloud until March 1st, 2025. We will provide continuous support in transferring your operations to your chosen platform up until this date.

  • To facilitate migration, our Data Transfer service will be completely free during the transition period. Data Transfer provides a variety of target connectors to replicate your data easily.

Until March 1st, 2025, all existing clients can use DoubleCloud as normal: create and scale new clusters, build pipelines, etc. We will continue to maintain, update and provide support for our services. All services apart from Data Transfer and Data Visualization will remain paid.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen companies and technologies emerge and disappear, and now, our company’s journey is also coming to an end. But the end of something always marks a new beginning.

If you have any questions, please drop us a line on Slack.

Love,
The DoubleCloud Team
